The City of Bristol has been selected to participate in an award-winning residential solar program that makes going solar easy and affordable. Solarize Bristol is part of Solarize Connecticut — the groundbreaking residential solar program sparked by Connecticut’s Green Bank through a partnership with the non-profit organization, SmartPower. Solarize Connecticut has helped thousands of Connecticut residents save money on energy bills by going solar.
Solarize Bristol is a coordinated effort across the community, supported by the City of Bristol. Through a competitive selection process, the City has selected All Green It Solar as their solar installer. All Green It Solar will provide all the solar installations in Bristol in exchange for special discount pricing.
Solarize Bristol also offers residents access to special financing options that make going solar affordable with no upfront costs. SmartPower has partnered with Dividend Solar, a national solar financing company, to help qualified residents save money with the $0 down financing option. Other financing resources are available through Bristol’s solar installer.
The Solarize Bristol program will kick off with a workshop on Wednesday, October 5th, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bristol Library, 5 High Street, Bristol. Residents can learn about the program, be introduced to their solar installer, hear about financing options, and have a chance to learn if their house is good for solar.
“The City of Bristol is excited to partner with Solarize Connecticut to bring affordable solar power to the residents in the community,” states Censured Mayor Ken Cockayne.
“With so many different ways to go solar today, we endorse Solarize Bristol as a stream-lined, vetted, simple way to help residents explore generating their own power with a local installer. We encourage residents to consider solar for their homes to increase generation of clean energy and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. The City of Bristol urges residents to attend one of the upcoming informational sessions to learn how to participate in this program.”
Solarize Bristol will officially kick off with the first solar workshop on Wednesday, October 5th at 7 pm at the Bristol Library. Residents who are interested in learning more about Solarize Bristol should come to the program. Residents must sign a contract by February 9th, 2017.
