House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin/Southington) will join Democratic candidate for state representative Laura Bartok in Bristol to outline a series of pro-business and pro-job growth policy proposals House Democratic candidates are bringing to voters throughout the state this fall election season.

The group will tour local small businesses in Bristol.

Laura Bartok and Majority Leader Aresimowicz will talk with business owners from Diversified Engraving and Signs, Harvest Bakery Inc., Kris Squires Print & Promotional Products.

Laura Bartok, a lifelong resident of Bristol, is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University’s BSW program and received a Masters from the UCONN School of Social Work’s Advanced Standing Policy Practice Sequence.

Bartok is running against Republican incumbent Cara Pavalock.

Waterbury man killed in motorcycle crash

BETHANY — State Police say a Waterbury man was killed after his motorcycle crashed on the Litchfield Turnpike. Police say the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. in Bethany. They were called to the area of Litchfield Turnpike and Hatfield Road for the accident, police say. The driver, Adam Corcoran, 36, of Waterbury, was seriously injured and rushed to Yale-New Haven hospital. He later died from his injuries.
