Archbishop Leonard P. Blair presented Meals For The Needy

On October 10th, Archbishop Leonard P. Blair presented Meals For The Needy (MFN) with a check in the amount of $1,250.00 funded in part through the Archdiocese of Hartford through the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Vicariate Outreach Program.

 
The funding will help MFN continue its mission of feeding the hungry in Bristol as it has for the past 34 years.  MFN also has an Emergency Food Pantry, a clothing porch and is an administrator of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program which serves low income seniors.  “We are very grateful to be a recipient of this funding which allows us to continue to serve those in need in our community”, commented Cheryl Yetke Director of MFN.  MFN is located at 27 Judd Street in Bristol and serves dinner Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 
 
Since 1981, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal has been able to assist tens of thousands of people, regardless of race, religion or color across the Archdiocese of Hartford with health care, educations, housing, emergency expenses and in numerous other areas. 
It is through the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Vicariate Outreach program and the generosity of its donors that the Appeal is able to assist a wide array of community based charities throughout Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties.
