6th Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser at Chippanee Country Club

The Young Professionals for United Way have a huge holiday season planned and are in need of help from the surrounding communities. There are several ways to help. The Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser at Chippanee and the community-wide Re-Gifting Program are coming up.

“Our Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser is a big, fun (and tasty!) way for us to gather with our communities and raise money for our initiatives year-round. One of which is the Re-Gifting Program. Your help is so crucial right now, as we prepare for both events at the same time, leading up the holiday season.”

The Young Professionals for United Way mission is defined by United Way’s mission – “We will unite our communities to create opportunities for a better life for all by focusing on education, income and health.”

Young Professionals for United Way serves Bristol, Burlington, Plainville & Plymouth.

Upcoming events include:

Re-Gift Some Cheer & Make a Child’s Year! Re-Gifting 2016

The Young Professionals for United Way and Webster Bank are accepting donations for unused items for Bristol’s Annual Re-Gifting Program.

Re-gifting your unneeded items will allow over 1,000 children from low-income areas in Bristol to select two gifts for their parents or caregivers.

The program has been a great success in previous years and with the continued support of the community, the children of Bristol will have another joyful holiday season.

“We’ve all received gifts in the past that for one reason or another were never used. We understand you’re asked to donate to a variety of causes this time of year, so we only want these unused/unneeded items.”

Some ideas are: Gloves, scarves, mugs, sports memorabilia, games, perfume/cologne, decorative items, jewelry, etc. We also need gift bags and tissue paper.

“We need over 2,000 gifts this year.”

YPUW and Webster Bank have taken on the task of coordinating this important community program.

The gifts will be collected until December 12th. During the month of December, the donated items will be distributed to select locations throughout Bristol where children can “shop” for a holiday gift for their loved ones. Gift items can be dropped off at the locations below:

• Bristol Public Library, 5 High Street, Bristol

• Manross Library: 260 Central Street, Forestville

• United Way of West Central CT: 200 Main St,

• Webster Bank 647 Farmington Ave

• Webster Bank 150 Main St
