Automotive retail chain planned at former Bikers Edge site

BRISTOL —  O’Reilly Automotive Stores Inc. is planning to renovate and expand the former Bikers Edge located at 384 Farmington Avenue. Bikers Edge recently moved to the former Bristol Press building on Main Street last year.

O’Reilly Auto Parts says they will employee approximately 12 people and will operate between 7am to 9pm with deliveries occurring on certain mornings and afternoons.

O’Reilly Auto Parts is a retail chain that sells automotive parts and accessories. O’Reilly says no car maintenance will be performed on the site and tire sales are not part of the stores operation.

All hazardous material stored would be under allowed quantities per regulations.

O’Reilly Automotive is a larger specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment, and accessories, serving both professional service providers and do-it-yourself customers.

Founded in 1957 by the O’Reilly family, the Company operated 4,712 stores in 45 states as of September 30, 2016.

The Planning Commission will discuss the proposal on Wednesday 1/25 at City Hall in the Council Chambers at 7pm.
