It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in Region 10’s Board of Education – Youth and Community Development Award for 2017. From the nominations we receive, staff members will be chosen from each of our four schools to be recognized for their “Outstanding efforts and dedication to developing our youth and building a stronger Region 10 community.”
The nomination form, which is attached, should be returned to the Superintendent’s Office or emailed to the Region 10 Board of Education on or before Friday, March 3 2017 for each staff member you wish to nominate.
The Board of Education – Youth and Community Development Committee is comprised solely of the current Region 10 Board of Education members.
In the Youth and Community Development Award Program, we are attempting to honor current staff members who have shown a strong personal commitment in helping our youth develop and promote the tools and attitudes to constantly evolve and improve our Region 10 school community in support of positive human educational and life experiences.
The Region 10 Board of Education believes that within our community there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be channeled in creative ways to enhance our youth and achieve our communities’ desired educational and development goals. This award recognizes those individuals who make this possible in exemplary ways.
The rules are few and they are simple:
- Nominations should be made without regard to race, age, sex, or national origin.
- Nominees should have demonstrated their intent and ability to affect and inspire positive youth development in desirable areas such as enhanced leadership skills, self-confidence, healthy choices, and peer relations.
- Nominees should have demonstrated their ability to encourage our youth to build relationships and learn new skills enabling them to act together with others toward positive community goals which foster social responsibility, equality and the power of constructive collective action.
- Nominees should have the respect and admiration of students, parents and co-workers.
As we all know, Region 10 has a great and dedicated staff – now is the time to honor them and let them know we appreciate their many contributions for developing our youth and community. We urge your participation.
