Last year Daniel J. Caron of Bristol was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest while in a Woodland Street driveway by his close freind.
The friend was Chad Couture.
Couture was charged with 1st Degree Manslaughter by Use of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
Couture told police that he drank about half a bottle of vodka before shooting Caron.
This week Couture was sentenced to 25 years in prison, suspended after 15 years and five years probation, after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter.
“They were just good friends. They were good buddies. They hung out all the time, I think. They were together a lot,” said his 20-year-old daughter Nicole Caron.
