Ellen Zoppo-Sassu recently raised nearly 3 times more than Cockayne

Ellen Zoppo-Sassu candidate for Mayor of Bristol (D)

The October 10th campaign finance report shows Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, who announced at the end of May, has outraised Ken Cockayne by almost $5,000 and has $25,500 on hand, as opposed to Cockayne’s $8,000 on hand.

Cockayne announced his re-election bid in January.

Zoppo-Sassu raised $35,460 through September 30th, as compared to $30,621 for her opponent.

“We have been overwhelmed with the level of financial support to date,” stated Zoppo-Sassu.

“We have over 300 individual donors as well as donations from businesses, organizations and PACs, and money is still coming in every day. By the end of September we have already exceeded the total of what we raised in total for the 2015 race.”

“I think this is indicative of the type of race we are running and the sentiment we are hearing on the street, at doors, and in the heartfelt notes enclosed with the contributions that people want a change,” Zoppo-Sassu continued.

“And due to their generosity and support, we are in position to have the resources necessary to deliver the message to likely voters that will give them the information they need about my candidacy and platform issues as we head to Election Day.”
