Bristol Police Explorers SWAT Team attended competition

The Bristol Police Explorers SWAT Team attended a competition on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Fairfield Regional Fire School.

Explorers were dispatched to 9 different scenarios and had to problem solve, work as a team, and communicate in order to successfully execute and de-escalate the situations.

The 2017 SWAT team was comprised of 8 explorers. They received the following awards: 1st PLACE – Team Event, 2nd PLACE – Felony Drug Warrant, 2nd PLACE – High Risk Search Warrant ,2nd PLACE – Rapid Deployment, 3rd PLACE – High Risk Traffic Stop. T

The team also placed 2nd overall out of 8 other teams.

Silver Alert issued for missing 89-year-old from Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD — Bloomfield police are looking for Mabel Perry-Pounds, a missing 89-year-old. She’s described as a black female with gray hair and brown eyes. She is about 5’7″ and weighs around 140 pounds. No picture was provided. She was last seen Sunday wearing a grey house coat, and carrying a purse and walking cane.
