Spend Earth Day weekend outdoors with us! Enjoy tours, hayrides around Indian Lake and through the forest, programs and activities related to Earth Day, visits with our farm animals and other live critters.

Lecture: Vector-borne Disease Ecology & Mosquitoes & Ticks in CT

Indian Rock Nature Preserve, 501 Wolcott Rd., Bristol.

Dr. Gillian Eastwood will be discussing vector-borne disease in general and factors affecting disease emergence and transmission.  There will be a focus on mosquitoes and ticks in CT as well as a demonstration of mosquito-monitoring trap devices. Groups of 10+, please reserve space prior to event.

The Bristol & Meriden Gem and Mineral Clubs are collaborating for this family-friendly event by presenting “Rocks for All Ages.”  Also, step into the Lapidary Center and see how rocks are transformed into art. The Bristol Garden Club will also be hosting a plant sale.

Mother’s Day Afternoon Paint

Mothers, bring a family member or a friend for a fun afternoon paint class! Singles welcome too! All ages can participate, but recommended for children over 5 years of age.  Mother’s Day treats served. Preregister by 5/7.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A mother accused of driving over her 8-year-old child in the parking lot of a Michigan school now faces charges.
