Connecticut Landmarks’ Nathan Hale Homestead is honoring our heroes during the 2018 Season with two exciting new programs. Visit the Homestead on a Saturday or Sunday in May from 12 to 4 pm to purchase an American Flag in honor of a military service member, veteran or hero.
The Flag Field for Heroes will be on display for the month of May. Cost is $10 per flag. Flags are currently on sale and can be purchased by contacting 860.742.6917 or email@example.com.
An Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 5th at 2 pm, featuring a flag raising ceremony by the Coventry VFW and the American Legion.
A POW flag ceremony will also be demonstrated by the Coventry VFW. Opening ceremony is free, regular admission applies for a house tour.
From Saturday, May 5th through Sunday, July 15th join the Hale Homestead staff during regular operating hours for our Saluting Our Heroes exhibition highlighting military service and local heroes from the Revolutionary War to modern day.
View uniforms and artifacts from all branches of the service.
Both programs are presented in collaboration with the Coventry Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Coventry American Legion. The Homestead is also a proud participant of the Blue Star Museums program.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day,active duty military personnel and their families, enjoy free admission all summer long.

BRIDGEPORT — A former Bridgeport cemetery manager appeared before a judge Tuesday. She was arrested after a police investigation found new grave sites were placed on top of old ones in the city’s Park Cemetery.
