The Road to Somewhere is a series of articles that chronicle the redevelopment of the former mall site with the simple start of a road. Road to Somewhere also covers community comments and political commentary.
The Road to Somewhere took a break during the winter months but now is back.
The Bristol Press recently reported tons of exciting activity on the former mall site.
“Work is progressing on Centre Square, with the installation of granite curbing under way and gas line improvements and streetscape work planned for the next phase of the project.”
However, there is one problem I have with the article. The Press called the new road “The Centre Square access road”
Who named it that?
The new road should have a proper name that reflects the history and future of downtown.
When the former mall was demolished, the City held a contest for kids to name the property.
The winning name was Depot Square. Most recently it was changed to Centre Square.
So, what do you think the new road should be named?
Comment on Facebook what you think the road should be called.
