The annual Johnnycake Music Festival in Burlington will be held on Saturday, June 9th from 3:00-9:00 pm.
The Festival is an annual event that brings the whole community together through music.
It is one of Make a Mark’s staple fundraisers along with the annual Chess Tournament and provides an environment the whole family can enjoy in the early summer months.
Last year over 1,400 people attended the Music Festival.
The fund provides grants to Region 10 students and teachers for creative and innovative educational practices that are not normally funded by the Board of Education.
Partnering with the Burlington Lions Club, the Make a Mark team is able to put on this event where local bands perform, kids play, and everyone can listen to music.
Two student bands from Lewis S. Mills High School will kick off the event. Gwen Nevin & The Strays will performing at 5:00 and Cajun Ray & The Steamers will close out the night and play from 6:00-9:00.
The festival will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
Suggested donation at entry is $5 per person.
