The worst season for the American Red Cross is summer.
With kids out of school and people planning vacations, it impacts the number of donors.
This year, however, is shaping up to be one of the worst on record.
The American Red Cross states that they are at severe emergency levels. They need people to sign up to give blood today.
Blood is going out far faster than it is coming in – and this can have an immediate impact on patient care if not immediately addressed.
The Town of Burlington will have “A Save-A-Life Bus” at the Town Hall on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11:00am – 4:00pm.
The City of Bristol posted “An emergency blood shortage is prompting the American Red Cross to issue an urgent call for eligible donors of all blood types.”
To schedule an appointment to donate, use the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-733-2767).
If you’re concerned about not having enough time for an appointment; you can also fill out a RapidPass questionnaire about your health history and cut down the time it takes to donate.
