The Mayor’s says in July 2018 Chief Brian Gould was elected to serve as President of the Capitol Region Chiefs of Police Association (CRCPA).
The CRCPA is an association of the Chiefs of Police in the Capitol Region formed to initiate and implement regional programs, policies, procedures, training and best practices, which benefit the 32 towns in the region that have full-time Police Departments.
Chief Gould was recently nominated and elected into Office to serve on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Chiefs of Police Association (CPCA), which is an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of the State of Connecticut.
Additionally, Chief Gould now serves as Chairman of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force Policy Board. The (SNTF) was established in July 1977 by the Connecticut legislature to administer the cooperative enforcement of Connecticut laws concerning the manufacture, distribution, sale, and possession of narcotics and controlled substances.
All a first for a Bristol Police Chief.
Finally, Chief Gould has been accepted in the FBI National Academy.
The FBI National Academy is a prestigious professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement managers.
The 10-week program—which provides coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science—serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.
Participation is by invitation only, through a nomination process. Participants are drawn from every U.S. state and territory and from international partner nations.
He will be leaving in the fall to begin his 10-week study program.

A well-known surgeon from Newport Beach and his girlfriend are accused of drugging and sexually assaulting two women, and Southern California authorities said they believe there could be many more victims.
